The FCOG(SA) Final now covers the entire CMSA blueprint. Every domain, every objective — a complete first pass is live.

When we brought Finals forward for the July cohort, we shipped the highest-yield topics first and promised the rest would follow. It has. The Final course now spans all 21 domains (A–U), 82 chapters, backed by 1,165 exam-format SBAs — our first complete run-through of the full CMSA Final blueprint.

What "full blueprint coverage" means

Every objective the CMSA lists for the Final now has two things behind it:

a textbook-depth chapter — advanced management, the controversies, and appraisal of the primary literature, with clickable landmark-trial tables, pitched a level up from Intermediate; and
exam-standard SBAs — South-African-context vignettes with every option explained, mapped to that objective.

There are no blank spaces left on the blueprint. From early-pregnancy complications and gynae-oncology through complicated obstetrics, operative delivery, PPH and critical care, to perinatal statistics and critical appraisal — it's all there to read and to practise.

Linked to your Intermediate foundation

A good deal of the Final blueprint builds on ground you first met for Intermediate — so we made the connection explicit. Under every chapter title sits a Primary · Intermediate · Final level control: your current level is highlighted, and wherever the same topic exists at another level, that pill is a live link straight across.

So when a Final chapter assumes the fundamentals, the foundation is one tap away: drop to the Intermediate chapter to shore up the basics, then come straight back for the consultant-exit-level depth. And at the foot of each chapter a "Builds on" card points to the exact Intermediate chapter it rests on, while a "Go deeper" card carries Intermediate readers up to the Final treatment. It's one continuous textbook across both exams — walkable in both directions, not two silos.

Landmark trials, in every chapter

Final questions don't just ask what — they ask on what evidence. So nearly every Final chapter ends with a Landmark trials & key evidence table: the trials and guidelines that define current practice, each with its question, its bottom line, and a link straight to the source. The classics to recognise on sight, and the modern practice-changers to cite in a viva — gathered in one place, not scattered across a dozen PDFs.

Living, not frozen

These chapters aren't a one-and-done drop. We revise them day by day — fixing anything that reads wrong, sharpening explanations, and folding in new evidence as SASOG, NDoH, RCOG, NICE and FIGO guidance moves. Don't just read it — recall it

Reading the blueprint cover to cover feels productive — but re-reading is one of the weakest ways to learn. The methods that actually build exam-durable memory — retrieval practice, spaced repetition, interleaving — are effortful, and most of us never set them up for ourselves. This is a first complete pass, not a finished one. The work now turns to refining and deepening — tightening explanations, adding more questions where the blueprint runs deep, and bringing the illustrations across to Finals. But the question bank is already comprehensive enough to cover almost everything you'll need for the exam: practise it end to end and you'll have touched the great majority of what the papers can ask.
